Why
Union Construction
Labor Management Cooperation
Labor Management Cooperation is the key ingredient to the partnership we have in the unionized sector of the construction industry here in Wisconsin. A close working relationship between union contractors and the unions who represent their workforce assures success between the parties. That relationship also assures a quality product to the construction user and great value to the community. Our cooperative effort between labor and management created first rate health and pension benefits, second to none training programs, and other benefits resulting in the most motivated, productive, safe and efficient workforce in the construction industry.
Labor Management Cooperation is evident in all of our fine benefit programs which include great pension plans, excellent health and welfare plans, drug and safety programs and many others. All of these programs are set up with an equal voice of labor and management working in harmony to provide security to our workers and a well qualified and dependable workforce guaranteeing success to our contractors. All of this and more is accomplished through collectively bargained agreements between labor and management.
Our training programs are created through “joint” apprenticeship and training committees administered through the state of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development - Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards. They are “joint” apprenticeship committees because the committees are made up of an equal number of employer and employee representatives. This allows the professionals who create, secure and design the work and their employees who perform the work to come together to develop state of the art programs to train our construction industry. There is no better way of creating, implementing and improving training programs than to have input by both labor and management.
When building a project, make sure you get a competitive price, quality construction from a skilled workforce, a project done on-time and on-budget, and that you are happy with the product when the project is finished. That is what you will get with CLMC contractors. Union contractors and a skilled union workforce through the Construction Labor Management Council will provide the best value to you and your construction project.
